After seeing my local Game is getting the Premium pack in on Thursday I decided to reserve one and an additional wireless controller. Prob going to go for Project Gotham and Kameo as well :) Just cant resist any more

Now, I have a 19" TFT Which is very decent (although not widescreen). It also has DVI and Analog inputs on the back. DVI is occupied by my PC, leaving the analog input free. it's easy to switch between the two modes via a button on the front too. Can you see where I'm going with this?

My TV is a 28" Widescreen/Flatscreen Sony, but sadly not HD (2 year old CRT)

Not sure if I sould pick up an advanced Scart lead for the 360 and use it on my TV, or go for the VGA cable and use my 360 on my desk with the TFT  I'm accustomed to my TFT for gaming on the PC, but dont like the idea of black borders.

Any non widescreen TFT users out there?

Yeah you do get borders, ive got a 17" TFT, and won't use it for my 360 because of that reason, and also native res is 1280x1024 which some 360 games won't do, PGR3 being 1 i think so you have to run it in a different res which will probably not look so good as its not the native one, i use my 360 on my 28" Sony Trinitron Widescreen Tv through the advanced RGB SCART, and i think the picture is astonishing on it, certainly a lot better than i was expecting. :)

There is a lot of TFT users who use them though, and i think some are not Widescreen, so im sure you'll get some of their input. :)

great :) Thanks for that.
Also keeps my desk free I guess....shame not to use it on such a decent TV, even if it isn't HD...

Yeah i was worried as eveyone was saying you need a HDTV for them as well, but i thought well im not spending £280, then having to spend another £500+ just to make it look good, but luckily the picture is fantastic through the RGB Scart, well impressed here, you may get the same quality as we probably have the same sorta Sony Tv's, pics of mine here , pics don't do it justice as they were taken on my phone, but it does look fantastic, and plus id rather play it on my big 28" Widescreen, than my piddly 17" TFT, as i can just lie back on my bed as well. :D

heh I know what you mean :) I'll still have the PC for regular PC gaming, but the Xbox hooked up to my TV for when I have folk round for a bash.
What games are you currently playing on your 360 anyhoo? :)

Working my way through Condemned at the moment, fantastic game, jumped a fair few times now, and ive played a lot of PGR3, decided to give that a rest for a bit and start playing Condemned few weeks ago, and ive also got King Kong to start. :)

sounds good, heard allot about Condemned. Will prob be one to pick up.

A game I'm quite excited about is Kameo. Have you tried this one?

Thanks for your comments :) It's nice to hear our TV's can still impress with the right cables *goes off to find an OFFICIAL Advanced Scart cable*

I'm using the Joytech RGB scart xander and it gives a very good quality picture. Cheaper than the official one too.

i got my advanced scart lead from Game, their own brand, i'm happy with it, great picture on me Sony 32".

Got PGR3, Call of Duty and Condemned, still swapping between them, recommend them all, they're as good as each other.

Well if your into those types of games like Kameo, then thats a must have, also Condemned as mentioned, cracking game that, good story etc... and it'll make you jump :D , and PGR3's a must. :D

CoD2 as well is good, but ive got that on the PC so never bothered with the 360 version, but its supposed to be a belter to, if you want a fighter then DOA4 is a definate, and another cracker by the looks of it is GR:AW thats released on the 10th of this month, im definately getting that.

Good list of upcoming games here in this thread, also links to previews for them so you can get some info. :)

using mine on 17inch Hyundai 17+ TFT (not widescreen) with non branded vga lead and its brilliant compared to scart on my Philips widescreen TV. There is a big difference and yes you do get borders and yes PGR3 has to be run at 1024x7XX which isn't the TFT native res but you won't notice the difference (i have tested it), so i keep all my games at that res and had no issue's, problems or anything like that.

Thing is with being on TFT is so much clearer and because you normally sit closer to a pc screen than say your TV you fell immersed in the game anyway. Too me i'd rather have a smaller screen than big HDTV that cost a fortune and you have to sit 6 feet back from to view properly

Xander....if you're into FPS's and don't mind playing them using a pad then COD2 is a must. Surely one of the best FPS's around, especially on console.

PGR3 is a given if you like arcade racers, and I'm enoying Need for Speed Most Wanted at the moment which offers something a little different.

Also coming out soon are the likes of...Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, Elder Scrolls IV, Fight Night Round 3 and NBA 2K6 if you like basketball.

Defo use it on the tv instead of a monitor, i dont know how people can play a 360 on a small monitor, even if the tv isnt hi-Ded i would still defo go bigger screen route and use advanced scart cable (RGB).

I've bought an advanced Scart Lead :) (Space is a bit of an issue round my PC at the moment)

After doing some reaserch, it seems that Project Gotham Racing is the must have title at the moment. Kameo will be my second purchase for sure, simply because I love the look of it and there's nothing like a decent adventure game!

I never knew Xbox live was now free?? Well, for Silver membership anyway.
But this will still allow me to get racing online with Project Gotham, right?

no, the gaming function is gold - silver just lets you have friends / downloads etc...

but at £40 for a year for Gold - cant go wrong

Even less than £40 if you find a place selling the vouchers.

You'll get a month free Xbox Live Gold, so you'll get to see what it's like to play online on PGR3, then it'll just revert to Silver, until you register/buy Gold membership again.
