Thought I would provide a little update for people who were interested in my GT4. After moving to Cheltenham it sadly gets used very very little, probably on average single figure mileage a week. However as the car is costing me next to nothing to keep I figure that there is no point in selling as the value of it is not great and replacement options would be limited.

Back in Spetemebr last year I had a FMIC fitted from an Evo 8 to aid cooling in the summer months and had a Link G3 fitted to the car, it is now running 1.1bar of boost and pulls very nicely. I am unsure on power figures but it had 290bhp at 0.9bar with the stock cooling system and ECU. The car now manages an amazing 26mpg on a run instead of 20mpg before the work.

Running costs are very low the only things I had to replace last year was the battery and a fuse to the battery which popped in the cold weather we had. I am sure that running cost would be a lot higher with extra mileage, you have to remember that this car is nearly 16 years old.

My friend recently bought himself a absolutely lovely E46 M3 recently and so we went for a drive, he was really surprised how little difference there was between the cars even to interesting speeds. He also admitted when drunk that when our cars were parked next to each other outside his flat he was disappointed that my car generated a lot more double takes and peers through the window. :D

Anyway less talking and more pictures. :o

EDIT here is how she sounds Noise

looks really nice, can't believe it's 16 years old

did you take it out for some 4wd snow action the other week?

I was going to but the weedy 100A fuse to the battery blew in the cold. :(

How much BHP does the Lucazade give it?

Knew someone would pick up on that. The radiator overflow bottle no longer fits now that the FMIC et all is on, it does its job and that is all that matters, but to answer the question about 10bhp. :p

You have a stunning car. Although clean up that engine bay!!

I loved celica's/GT4's. A neighbour had a GT4 (spoiler wasn't quite same as yours iirc) and I grew up wanting one so much! :D

I have to say, this is a fantastic car with all the right mods to ensure reliability and driveability... not just slapped together by some numpty who wants a "massiv spoyla innit"

:D

It goes quite well too :o

The battery shouldn't be fused.

The battery is in the boot. I certainly wouldn't run a power cable through my car without fusing it.

We had a massive debate about this on RT a while back.

Some people use fuses, some people don't. That's fair play :)

I don't see a problem in taking extra safety measures (and my cable is wrapped in trunking aswell :D)

Looks awesome Simon, I remember going out in this a couple of years ago, love it

Any more mods planned?

Probably just maintenance now, if anything goes wrong it will be replaced with performance parts, cash allowing. Another power increase would either be at the expense of reliability or huge cash and I am not willing to sacrifice either at the moment.

It is a bit quicker than last time you went out in it, after following the M3 I would hesitate a guess around the 320-330bhp mark. :)
