A few of us from another forum went on a Europe trip last week which ended at the Ring. Thought you might like to have a look at the pics:

This was my second trip to the Ring. The sheer thrill of being there was no less than my last visit. The stomach butterflies and nausea still there at the toll gates on every lap. The ultimate buzz when you make it through those first successful corners at speed. The heart-stopping screech of tyre squeal which you screw up, followed by frantic corrections and cold sweat. I literally ended laps shaking from the rush of adrenaline I was getting.

We did take a Lotus Elise with us, but being a Lotus... well you know :p - these pictures explain it:

The Lotus story

Hope you enjoy them :)

Some cracking shots, but at the end of the day, there's still a swearie on the back of the Astra ;).

That's a '5' and 3 'I''s :p

very cool photos there!, what were you doing sneaking on to the course anyways?

Trying to leave our mark. Unfortunately charcoal doen't leave much of a mark on a charcoal coloured surface :o

And you didn't taken that Astra on the ring! It looks like a great trip, when I own something a bit sportier then a Xantia I must go.

Sorry to hear about the Lotus, is it still stuck on the continent or did it get fixed in time for you to drive it back?

It did 5 laps :):)

I did an 11:20 in it which was crap, but then the car was crap and it was only my 3rd lap (the others also being in that stupid thing!)

Great pics Nick.

Has the car settled down now after the remap?

Cheers Merlin :)

Yup - it's been great recently. The remap originally made it a little jumpy when accelerating hard, but it's nice and smooth now. I think it has taken until now to sort itself out which is around 2 months and 4,000 miles... although apart from Donington it hadn't been driven properly before going to Europe.

No cut outs on the Ring and I was pushing it harder than I was at Donington, so seems to be all in order now.

Great pictures Nick, will be up for going next time you are :D

Shame about the Lotus though, where is it now?

Lies. It blows out so much smoke you made it onto BBC2 Travel news when someone called to report what they assumed was a lorry fire.

How do you know that?

I don't believe you had the pleasure of following my remapped wake :p

I have, I was driving down the A38 the same time as you left work yesterday. Despite a gap of some 200 miles, the smog was clearly visible.
