Hi folks,

I hope I am in the correct section?

I have downloaded some pictures from the internet for reference for a tattoo. When i sent the pictures via email to the artist I was told that they are far too small and need to be perfect quality. The guy thats doing me is number 1 in the world at the moment and he wants perfect quality pictures.

On my PC the quality is great but obviously when i send them they look bad.

Is there any way to enlarge these and get the picture quality I am seeing on my PC? Any programme or anything I can do so I can send the pictures in high quality and enlarge them?

Many thanks

Peter

you can also do a google image search for visually similar (or in this case the same) image and when the results come up you can specifiy large images so the quality will be at its highest.

surely as a supposed #1 he should be able to look at a crap picture as a concept and make it his own. He isnt being paid to copy and trace an image onto you is he? He is meant to be the best and convert what you have seen into his own style.

That's what I would have thought. Seems very odd he is needing to trace.

This. All of the decent tattoo artists I've met or heard about don't copy work they do their own thing based on the ideas they've given you.

I just Had an interesting thought, in theory if the tattoo artist directly copied or traced the image that'd be copyright breach. Does that mean in theory the original artist could demand the tattoo be removed :D

Or maybe even the whole arm?

He could insist that under the tatoo goes the copyright symbol and text referring to the original artist
