Pink Cat

It's pretty cruel, just like shaving a cat. :(

I've had to both shave my cat and bathe/shampoo both my wife's cat and my own in the past.

Both were due to crud getting in their coats granted, but shaving for aesthetic reasons/dying isn't really any different except the same thing is done but for different reasons. The cat couldn't care less either way. All it knows is it's either getting wet or being shaved (which funnily enough my cat didn't mind at all).

My friends were the ones who found it! Quite an amusing thing for a bunch of tokers to have pop up on them :p

Edit:For reference, the cat was firstly named Clouseau upon discovery.... Pink is weak!

OK, so the vet agrees that the person who did it was very careful and that the dye is harmless:

It is clearly not toxic but still unpleasant. ((How? Morally? Aesthetically?!))

The person responsible has covered her thoroughly all over but avoided putting any around the animal's eyes and nose.

Yet the arsepca are still looking for the person who did it:

We are very keen to trace the person responsible for doing this to the cat and I would urge anyone with information, or who knows who she belongs to, to please call the RSPCA

Why? Unless they want a few thousand Poodle owners 'dobbing in' too, I'm not seeing the fuss. For all they know the cat (a pedigree, no less) is loved and looked after by a granny who likes her 'Poodle-esque' pussy *snigger* and the cat just got lost or something?

Is any genuine owner likely to come forward to claim their lost (and no doubt missed) cat now that the BBC and arsepca are on a witch hunt? Just some random thoughts.

I would not like to be forcefully shaved or dyed pink. If it was done to a new born baby, wouldn't you think that it's parents are out of order?

why do you think the cat even cares ?

surely the colour of its fur makes 0 difference to the life of the cat.

how do you know it wasnt done by its owners ?

and how is it any more cruel than when they have to be held for injections at the vet ? or have their fur shaved when they speyed, or when they have to have a bath after getting crud on their coat ?

Shall we have outcrys and a witchhunt for those owners too ?

"Breaking News today - a woman pinned her cat down and held it against its will to give it a bath. its well known how much cat's hate water so the RSPCA are appealing for anybody who has information to come forward"

I own a cat as well, and this is a massive over reaction.

probably not

cant have been anymore painfull than when we ripped her ovaries out and shaved half her fur off when she was neutered.

Nobody is in uproar about that however.

Because they are necessary to an extent. Maybe it's just me. I'm not a fan of dogs being trained to act like humans and wear dresses either maybe that's why this ticked me off.

i can see your point

Its doing something to the cat for your own kicks / enjoyment rather than for the cats benefit

but the article is a massive over reaction.

Pink! :D I think it looks good..
How do we know if the cat likes its new pink fur or not?
And I don't understand the bit where it says "thrown over a garden fence in Swindon.".. How would anybody know if the cat was *thrown* over a fence or not, unless it was caught on CCTV or something..
