The Pioneer HTS-GS1 is available on the american bay for $165 + postage. Probably atleast $200 with postage. Including import duty it would be arounf $240.

Cheapest UK vendo is selling it for £260!

Seems very cheap.

Would the pioneer warranty be viod in the UK?

Temporarily out of stock

and its been like that for a while

why the massive price difference? if they can sell it for $165, then it cant cost much to make.

Dont know, but i do know that it used to be £150 at that place a while back, was quite a favourite in the console forum section.

When I was in the US around christmas it was priced at around $400. Not sure how they're selling them that cheap but they may be refurbs. The voltage may well be different, so not much use importing. They also come in a very big box and weigh a lot, it would cost a small fortune to ship.

I got a set at £150 late last year and two free games, which was a good deal. I'm very happy with them, they suit my needs perfectly, since I use them for my 360, PS3 and my pc. Consoles connected by optical and pc by digital coax.

Just FYI, there is a new Sony HT-SS1100 (Approx £225) that is just being released next week... I've demo'd the Pioneer HTS, and it seemed OK, but not very hi-fi.. I think you are paying for the 360 'design'... but it looks a little odd perched on top of the 360..

It's 700W RMS, slimline amplifier, 5.1 setup as per the Pioneer, but it has

2 Optical / 1 Coaxial, 2 HDMI In, 5.1 analogue in / AV Lipsync

And a nifty Auto-setup via microphone setup..

I've heard the previous model, the HT-SS1000, and for the money that was certainly more impressive then the Pioneer and the 360 can sit on top of it quite nicely..

Just a thought..
