Pipex Broadband.

IP profile for your line is - 1000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 1664 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 921 kbps

Using IE7 for that.

Any ideas anyone? I did the following from http://www.dslzoneuk.net/socket.php
Errors seem to have dropped.

Using a Modem (Speedtouch 330) that plugs straight into the phone socket.

Would I still be able to cancel my connection in the seven days cooling off period?

Thanks

You're profile is set to 1000k and your stats are within the 1MB parameters.

To be honest there doesn't seem to be an apparent problem

There is a problem, my downloads won't go about 5kb/s and it isn't my modem. Very weird, even in the mornings it's slow. I've installed new drivers for the modem still slow. :(

Don't know about Protocol.

Just ran a 10mb download .biz file from the site you supplied, there I got 115kb/s dipping to 70kb/s. But I'm downloading a small 8mb file, 5kb/s *** :\

If it's a new line it's probably because you're on a 'MAX' connection and it needs a few days to get it's speeds sorted.

Dear *********

The move from your old ISP to Pipex is now complete and we've requested the speed upgrade to your line that will allow you to use the PIPEX Max (Static) service you originally ordered.

Your line will now be checked by BT to ensure that it's capable of supporting the speed you wanted. This process can take up to 7 days to complete.

Once the checks have been carried out we will email you the results. You will not be charged for your Broadband service until this speed upgrade process is complete.

The status of your order can always be checked 24 hours a day on the Pipex Order Status Web page at: ************

Dear ***********

I'm delighted to inform you that your Pipex Broadband will go live on the 17/04/2007, as all the necessary line tests and checks have now been passed successfully. Once again, thank you for selecting Pipex. We are passionate about our award-winning service and are excited at the prospect of helping you make the most of the evolving online experience.

Forget the rest it's advertising. The e-mails were sent at the same time.

I migrated to Pipex from Plusnet around 6months ago..
I had an Internal Zoom PCI ADSL modem and to start with had reasonable speeds of 120kb, after about 2 weeks I had a really crap connection constantly huge amounts of packetloss and just poor speed 60kb tops.

I decided to give a Billion router a try after reading a few posts elsewhere about adsl routers improving quality of connection.
Fired it up and config'd.. instant 3.5mb connection and has been ever since the general quality of connection is also great. The odd sync loss but thats to be expected with any connection really.

I recommend you do the same m8ty get urself an ADSL/+2 Router either Billion or another brand but I'd definatly recommend the billion for ease of setup and stability.

Only 1 left get in there =P

When I upgraded from 2mb Pipex to 8mb it was tempermantal in the first few days but it was mostly faster then
Now it's not quite as quick

Hmm, my speed has gone to 3.2Mbps, seems faster. All is good so far, downloads are faster. Lets see what happens @ 6pm xD

Its Pipex. Theyre NO SWEARING. Sorry but they are.
(worst thing I ever did - still stuck in a contract)

I noticed my speed dropped a lot as of late, checked my profile and this is what I got.

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 500 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 2400 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 458 kbps

What should I do? Apparently, I'm capable of getting 2.5Mbps on my line.

Test you speed below and copy/paste the result back here. But I'd say you speed looks fine. Where have you been experiencing slowdowns? Web pages, normal downloads or torrents?

Below is an example of my up to 8mb connection. It's never gonna be the full speed

After an e-mail seems like my profile has gone back upto 1000

I was experiencing slowdowns on all, webpages, downloads, torrents. Even Games. I regret moving to this company so far it's been crap.

edit: I should be able to get 2mb tbh, but only 1mb at the mo :\
