On the 15th of Nov Fileplanet members will get the chance to try out Pirates of the Burning Seas in a stress test.

The last stress test was worthless imo. I tried logging on 4 different times and each time was told there was a queue of 45 minutes or so just to get on to the server.

I wish someone would upload the client to usenet so I can download it at a good speed. Fileplanet only giving me abou 60k/sec.

its not all its promised to be for me,

Way too much instancing and just not polished enough, lets just say i have been playing it for a long time now

Shame it could have been sooo much more in my eyes. If you search for earlier posts i used to champion this game quite a lot

The main client isnt that large. But then it has to download the updates.

Unless they have the full current client to download.

Now in open beta!

I quite like the game, it is pretty and the ship battles play well. Especially bigger grouped pvp.

All the avatar bits to me still seem to need polish though, the swashbuckling is still dull.

I was really looking forward to this game, but after playing the beta for a while I was really disappointed. There was very little variation in it and although I had fun taking out some ships that were 25+ levels above me (rake+grapeshot=win), I just got bored. I even started trying to do some crafting but found I was having to sail miles just to get a few resources I needed.

It might of gotten better with the larger group PvP but I just found myself being endlessly pursued by higher level people, every time I went into a PvP zone to do a mission. Literally I got chased for over 30 mins by someone round and round in circles and they couldn't of expected much cargo from me considering the size of my ship.

Just into the current beta, signed up months ago.

Lagged like hell, checked my brothers net and he was uploading at 1-2kb which is nothing.

Will try again in the early hours.
