Plane on fire in sky

basically about 20 mins ago myself and 4 others saw a plane in the sky over burslem. We stopped by ceramica to have a look

It was obvoiusly a plane and was it was definatly on fire and parts were falling from it. It was heading in the direction if hanley

Did anyone else see anythin?

It was just one of those fire lanterns. Nothing to see here.

How close were you, how clear did you see?

Was it a jumbo, military, light aircraft? What details are you sure of?

It's a fire lantern. There are bloody 100's of them drifting about the country at the moment.

Well, considering that my desk is positioned right underneath the back window of the house and as I type this I have a great view of the skies in the direction of Hanley and Burslem I like to think I'd actually notice an aircraft on fire if it came into view.
