Planner on sky box

We cancelled sky around 4 months ago and are now have sky Q put in, is there any way to move recorded things from one box to another, or move it to other media?

I generally get stuff off my Sky+HD box by first recording it to a DVD using a DVD recorder via Scart and then rip it to my PC.

I told my relations to make sure they have watched everything on old box before the new box was delivered - if sky de-activate the old box/card all the recordings would become inaccessible (maybe they discriminate between recordings of freesat and the channels you payed for)
