Planning a new build

Well thats socket 1366, if it only fits that and doesn't have any adapters/plates to allow it to fit other sockets at the time, then you need a new one.

Anyone got any idea what graphics card i should be going for? im thinking a 670 or an ati equivalent, budget around £350 for that

so i can actually use home premium still? All im using is 16gb ram and a upto 4gb card depending on which i go with

You'll be fine whatever graphics card you get.

I have 1 PC with a 1GB graphics card and 16GB of RAM and another with three 2GB cards and 16GB of RAM.

Both using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and both using the full 16GB of RAM.

The downside is that you can't use more RAM so as long as you're happy with the 16GB limit you're OK.

If you want the option to use more than 16GB then W7 Professional 64 bit will cost you an extra £28 (OEM at current prices).
