The crew at Shacknews not only have the new 1.3 patch for Crysis Wars, they also say that Crytek is allowing people to download the game (here) and play it for free for 10 days. Might be something worth trying out over the holidays.

Along with the patch, the developer announced that the PC multiplayer shooter will be free-to-play for 10 days, from December 19 through December 29. Crysis Wars is the multiplayer half of Crysis Warhead, and normally requires a copy of Warhead to play.

As far as I can tell, it's just the multiplayer so you can't play through the single-player portion of the game.

Still, something for nothing can't be complained about.

Lol let me guess the free trial doesn't work with the patch ?

anyway I signed up etc to fileshack and the public server links do not work just keeps you in line without refreshing
