Playing music in Vista Ultimate - choppy and jumpy

Its bugging me. My spec is in my sig. Upto date chipset and audio drivers.

When playing music via MP11 or RealPlayer, the tune will go choppy, almost like a jumping record. Might happen once, might happen 3-4 times during a tune. Doesnt matter if music if from external usb hard drive or on the local disk. I've also set the power options to max in CP

Any ideas...

If it's a creative card, make sure you've specified whether you have 16 or 24 bit decoding.

What card is it?

make sure you have the updated drivers from realteks site for vista.

edit: i know you say you have the updated ones,but check realteks site for their vista beta drivers.
