Playstation 4 being announced February 20th?

Oh and I think some people in here are under the illusion that Windows and DirectX are 'free' from overheads, belittling graphics such as that seen in the KZ: SF demo.

I never watched the full conference but I am sure I read on here they were running it on Windows 8?

The KZ graphics looked very nice, but there was not a lot going on in the physical world, have a look at something like BF at it's max on PC and you see nice graphics with the physical world reacting to the action as it happens on screen.

I think that is what most would want from the next gen, a much deeper experience, better AI, environments that feel alive, much better AI, better physics engines etc.

PS4 is no doubt going to be a great leap for us console gamers and at the end of the day PC gaming will quickly leapfrog it again as its a much faster moving market.

Did you see the video from that american show where they're playing it? The world seems quite busy, compared to what we saw at the reveal

There was a Windows 8-based Sony Vaio Duo 11 announced that will be possible to connect to the PS4.

Using Windows to run a console demo would make no sense, as it doesn't support the graphics libraries the console's finalised hardware would be using.

I'm going to say this once... it has been said many times before. But I will say it because its awesome. It will also resolve all arguments and make everyone happy dance around like fairy's and bring peace to the world and this here thread. Its so good I will even say it in colour and with a slightly bigger font :D

Gameplay > Graphics

/end thread

What are you waffling about? Battlefield was awful.

Pc leapfrog the PS4 just like it didn't do the PS3 huh... Uncharted, heavy rain, gran turismo, killzone looked better than anything on the pc at the time.

You can't deny that great graphics can help make a game much more immersive which would help make gameplay feel better. But yes gameplay first.

Battlefield being awful is opinion.

That isn't what was said? He said the PS4 will have the best graphics at release but then the PC will eventually surpass it just like it always does.

OK now lets actually build a PC that will be able perform similar to the PS4s level of performance. The PS3 was £425 at launch sony have stated the ps4 will not make that mistake again so i estimate around £350, but for arguments sake lets say £375.

That comes to a nice £1045

Was going to stick the titan in there for lulz but thought better of it.

I dunno FF7/pretty much every thing FFX and before/System Shock/Half life/Persona 2+ 3/Baldur's gate/Command & Conquer/Worms/Sonic/Streets of Rage/Mario Kart/Diablo 1+2/Resident evil 1+2+3. I could go on but they are still pretty damm immersive and the graphics look crap compared to today's AAA standards.

Different gameplay in this other video? Some people said the KZ4 at the Meeting was scripted etc (tbh Killzone creators have got form for this :) )

Are you saying they have allowed other people already have ago on the build shown at the Meeting?

Yes, the TV show host played it and couldnt aim for crap.

Jimmy Fallon, i believe.

Can we stop with the moronic PC comparisons?

This is nothing, just a warm up to the main event when the Xbox is officially announced.

Might as well close the thread, there is nothing here now for people that might want to learn a bit about the coming of the ps4. Who could be bothered to sift through this much ****.

haha true Dannyjo. Still I like to pop on threads like this to see how convo has shifted. Makes for entertaining reads on lunch breaks while at work :p
