EU PlayStation Plus Updates Will Now Fall On Tuesdays

"It’s always been a bit annoying that the EU and US updates for the PlayStation Store and PlayStation Plus updates have happened on different days of the week. It looks like SCEE are taking a small step in the right direction though, as they’re aligning PlayStation Plus updates to land on the same day as those in North America.

Responding to comments on the PlayStation Blog, Fred Dutton explained that the EU won’t be seeing an update this week as a consequence of this new policy:

Hey folks. As of this month, Plus games go live in both EU and US on the first tuesday of the month (no longer Wednesday in EU). The first Tuesday in July is 7th July, hence why the games aren’t launching this week.

What those games will be, we don’t yet know, but this week marks the fifth anniversary of the subscription service first going live, so it would be a bit of a surprise if there weren’t a little fanfare and special announcements to celebrate."

Jesus the whole its not a game unless its AAA

Styx is considered better than the latest Thief for stealth and well Rocket League might end up being as realistic as FIFA 16 :p

ps3ud0

Sony have the catalog to strike a better balance than they are right now, Its not unreasonable to think that at least some of the launch titles would have made their way to Plus. Maybe Sony are holding them back to Q3/Q4 so we have at least some first party exclusives to play :)

Agreed, Styx does look decent though.

Playstation Plus to receive a price increase from September 1st in Europe

http://www.dealspwn.com/playstation-receive-price-increase-september-1st-europe-223266#more-223266

"It's always a good time to be an online gamer with an Xbox One, the cost of an Xbox Live Gold subscription seemingly drops every week with lowest pricing hitting the £18 mark for a years subscription. Not so much for Playstation owners however, currently a years subscription for the ability to use Sony's online capabilities and Instant Game Collection will set you back £39.99 on the Playstation Store with CDKeys periodically dropping to around the £33 mark.

Of course there is also the monthly (£5.49) and three monthly (£11.99) and options for those who prefer not to commit to the Playstation Plus subscription model. Unfortunately that is all set to change as of 1st September 2015 as both the monthly and three monthly subscriptions are to be increased in price. Although no confirmation has been made for the monthly subscription cost, 3 months is set to rise from £11.99 to £14.99 as confirmed by Sony in response to PushSquare.com

"We are dedicated to bringing PlayStation Plus members the best possible service with the most compelling content," a statement sent to us from SCEUK said. "From 1st September we will be increasing the price of monthly and three month PlayStation Plus subscriptions in line with market conditions. We will continue to invest in PlayStation Plus to ensure an unparalleled experience, featuring the best quality games and features."

With the recent downtime and slow downloads users of Playstation have encountered as of late this is probably not the best time for Sony to be hiking their now mandatory (online PS4 experience) subscription service, is it?"

Vote to Play Begins Thursday, Help Decide Next PS Plus Lineup

Today, we’re pleased to announce the games that will be part of Vote to Play — our special promotion that enables PlayStation Plus members to vote on one of three PlayStation 4 games for next month’s PS Plus game lineup. All three of these games would be a great addition to our lineup, and we want to put the choice in your hands when voting begins on Thursday, August 13th.
Without further ado, here are the games on the ballot.

Armello

A grim fairy-tale board game come to life, combining deep, tactical card play, rich tabletop strategy, and RPG elements. Set in a vibrant magical world with a tinge of darkness, Armello thrusts players into an epic struggle for power as they quest, scheme, explore, vanquish monsters, perform the mad king’s royal edicts, and face off against other players, with one ultimate end goal in mind — storming the palace and becoming King or Queen of Armello.

Grow Home

You play BUD (Botanical. Utility. Droid), a robot on a mission to find the Star Plant and save his planet. Discover a strange open-world: a planet of floating islands, with precipitous drops, caves and waterfalls to navigate, all rendered in a minimalist but beautiful art style. Grow the giant Star Plant and use your unique climbing abilities to reach ever higher ground, but be careful as you ascend because one wrong move and it’s a long way down!

Zombie Vikings

From the creators of last year’s indie hit Stick It to The Man! comes a new co-op, four-player stab-you-in-the-gut-a-thon with a dead-funny adventure. Hack through the boiling gingerbread swamps of Molgaga, take a cruise through the intestines of the Midgaard Serpent, fight giant troll poultry, and find out how Söccer was really invented.
Voting starts Thursday, August 13th at 8:30 AM Pacific and ends Monday, August 24th, at 8:30 AM Pacific. The final result will be revealed after voting closes. If you’re a PS Plus member and you want to cast your vote, simply log on to PS4 with your PSN account, and access Vote to Play under “What’s New,” “Notifications,” or visit the PS Plus section of the PlayStation Store, where you’ll find details for Vote to Play.
The game with the most votes will automatically be included in our September free game lineup, and PlayStation Plus members can get the two runners-up at a discount. We can’t wait to see what PlayStation Plus members decide for September in our first Vote to Play event. We’ll have more events in the future, so stay tuned.
You can find more information about Vote to Play here, along with the benefits of being a PlayStation Plus member.
So tell us, what game are you planning to vote for?

edit:

We’ve carefully hand-picked these three titles, and love each of them equally! It’s going to be a tough decision, so make sure you check out each of the developer guest posts linked to above before making your informed decision! What’s more, look out for guest posts from each of the developers later this week, in which they’ll be making their case for your patronage!

If you’re a PS Plus member and want to cast your vote, simply log on to your PS4 with your SEN account and you’ll find the Vote to Play link under “What’s New,” “Notifications” or in PlayStation Store when voting begins. And don’t worry if you change your mind. Simply log back in and change your vote – it’s as simple as that!

To be clear, Vote to Play will not be a monthly feature, but will take place at regular intervals throughout the year. We’re really excited to launch this new exclusive feature and we hope you enjoy it!

For more information on how to vote check out our walk through video below or visit www.playstation.com/vote-to-play.

So, there you have it. Don’t forget, voting kicks off this Thursday 13th August at 4.30pm BST/5.30pm CEST. Make sure your pick is in with a shot at victory by heading over to your PS4 and casting your vote before time runs out! The chosen title will be announced on 24th August and will be added to your Monthly Games line-up from 1st September. The remaining two games will also be available at a discount from PlayStation Store from 1st September

Just seen that the xbox crowd get Thief this month, taking away the "quality" of the game, its

1. 3d
2. Was a full retail release

Bearing in mind it would be nice to have an xmas treat, I'd be very very disappointed with 2 more indie 2d titles, regardless of how amazing they are.....I have enough 2d titles now...

would imagine Sony will put more games up for "vote" either this or next month. Obviously that is no guarantee of quality, but chances are it may be better than what we've had of late.
