Hey guys

I'm a complete noob when it comes to PCs. I have had a Mac for the last 10 years but have just had a Gaming PC built for me by Cube. Gigabyte760M motherboard ; G-Force 4060 graphics ; Intel I7-12700F processor and 16GB DDR4 RAM.

Stupidly, to try to save money to convince my wife to let me buy it, I left off having Windows pre-installed. Its a lesson I've learned and a mistake I won't make again.

It looked so easy. I've got a new, clean 32gb USB. I have downloaded the latest version of Windows 11 Home onto my Macbook. And I have my license key.

I have used both UUByte and Terminal to try to create a bootable version of the USB. With Terminal, it always ends up just not being bootable and not recognised. But with UUByte it seems to work and gets me through to the Windows Setup screens. But this is where things go wrong.

If I tell UUByte to burn the USB media as a BIOS partition, I always get an error saying "Windows cannot open the required file C:\Sources\install.swm

And if I tell UUByte to burn the USE media as a UEFI partition, I get an error saying "A media driver on your device is missing..."

Any ideas? Other than call the place I bought it from tomorrow and grovel and hope they'll fix it for me?
