Please help loss of connection after 3 mins

Just got an old p3 laptop and pluged in my linksys wifi card in. Turned on my wifi on my router and hay presto...

BUT, after around 3 mins of connection to the internet it stops working. The connection is showing excelent, but the web just stops.

I have to click on view available networks and disconect from the connection and reconnect. This then needs to be repeated every 3 mins approx.

Would anyone have any ideas how to resolve this? I take it the operation system telling it to do this?

try updating the drivers for your chipset and and wireless card. First port of call would be a custom Windows Update then the manufactures sites.
