please help me get to my laptops hdd

hello there, i have a laptop (which was given to me by a relative) and the hard drive has gone (which i found out by trying to install a oporating system after it asked me to insert disk, and theres no drives)

But i have never used a laptop in my whole life and i have no idea how to get the hard drive out, iv slidden the battery and cd drive out which dont need unscrewing, and allso iv looked inside a cap held on by a screw and there was two mini ram sticks which was the first time in my life id seen laptop ram and i found it hillarius but yeh.. how do i get to the HDD please?

just relised theres a laptop thread (didnt know because iv never even thaught of the word laptop befor i got one given )

Any chance this thread can be moved please?

Chances are the HDD will slide in from the edge. Take a look for a small panel a couple of inches long and about half an inch high along one of the edge panels.

it doesnt matter iv found it, you see the slot on the left of the picture underneeth the laptop, well it slots in underneerth the dvd drive, reason i couldnt find it is because it had no hdd in it haha

Luckily i have a spare hdd in the cupboard so iv just shoved that in and it works, but it wont install oporating system :S
