Pokemon cards value?

Used to deal with these a lot when they were popular.
We were easily pulling £600+ on a normal saturday, The summer holidays and half terms were immense tho Used to love some of the parents that came in lol

Majority of the valuable ones were special such as misprints/promos/imports rarely was there a UK release card that pulled a huge premium, other than of course Charizard

General run thru the ones there and there nothing I notice as being expensive, you might still be able to get £2-3 for some of the "shinies"

It's odd because the games are still hugely popular but the TCG seems to hit a high point then drop and I seem to remember it dropping fast, we managed to shift most of the gear and iirc were left with 1 box of Team Rocket 1st print Jap imports. Theres probably still a few kicking around here but for what theyre worth now I cba to look for em and would probably find more cash down the back of the sofa

As Daiwos says above tho there are points every now and again when the value bounces around a bit, if you cba maybe worth waiting for a peak and dumping em then.

best thing to do is disregard the non-holographic ones, then go on ebay and check for yourself the rare ones and what they are worth

unfortunately the hype of the first gen cards is well over and you wont get much for them - unless its a super rare like Charizard, even then probably no more than £10 if you are VERY lucky.

Have you bothered trying? Dealers buy MtG in bulk or you could advertise on Gumtree etc.

Out of interest, do you know what sets you have cards from? This makes it easier to determine if there might be anything of value if you have 1000+.

If it's a set where they started clearly showing rarity (black, silver, gold expansion symbol) then they're easier to sort and price, since they commons (black) are mostly worthless, some uncommons (silver) can be with 50p+ and rares can be anything really.

that collection is tiny compared to mine. i've got literally every single card you could get in uk. the originaly set i've completed with some i've got twice, then i've got the bad guys one, the chinese ones, loads of special ones, all in the official folder and most in brand new condition as they went straight there. wonder what that is worth

My cube is fully powered (lotus, moxen, recall, twister and walk) and I have pretty much a playset of all of the duals. I've played since Revised though.

There's a whole host of highly valuable rare/misprinted cards. The Summer Magic Blue Hurricaine (The card hurricaine misprinted to having blue artwork) sells for £5k+ as there's only maybe 10 (probably more like 5) in existence.

There's also some 1-offs, one of which sold for £30k I think.

I sold aload on ebay last year, few shiny ones, think i fetched about £30, which is better than a slap round the chops with a magikarp!

That is funny, can't make them out at any resolution when they're not even in focus...

They are in focus and you can make quite a few of them out. It's just noisy because it's displayed at native resolution which is a different thing entirely.

Both Alpha and Beta were limited print runs, but Beta cards' corners had different a different radius. Ridiculous really Black Lotus is broken anyway
