Pokemon cards value?

Both Alpha and Beta were limited print runs, but Beta cards' corners had different a different radius. Ridiculous really :p Black Lotus is broken anyway :D

There was 4x the amount of Beta printed (4 million cards) than there was Alpha, and Alpha had square corners, Beta onwards had rounded ones. The square corners make them iffy to play with in tournaments as they're classed as marked card a lot of the time.

I've got quite a few shiny's upstairs tucked away. But I know I also had a Black Lotus card.. despite not knowing it had any value.. just something I've kept for ages.. and guess what.. now I've gone to look for it, its gone.. ah well.

I recently offloaded my collection of pokemon cards for just shy of £1500.
The most annoying thing was actually sorting through them to find the rare ones which would be worth something.

Usually people think that the holo cards are the only ones worth any money but not always the case. Some of the common cards with missprints can be worth stupid ammounts of money.

The majority of the money I made was with first editions especially jap import ones. A few sealed 1st edition jap promo sets (9 cards) went for £100+ each. Think i payed around £15 for them about 10 years ago.

Take the time to check online for what cards are rare. PLaces like tradecardsonline are pretty good places to start.
