Pokémon - why is it so popular?

The games were awesome.

Remember MissingNo? :p Silly glitches back in the day...

The game were just designed really well. Simple, portable and addictive. A winning combination for any handheld platform. I doub they would have had the impact they did if they were released on a home console.

Still have a massive box of the cards as well, and a folder with all of the 'shinies'. If only they were worth something :(. I certainly spent far to much as a kid on them.

Heh - i was never really into Pokemon until my son got into it. Nothing like an ultra-Pokemon-obsessed 8 year old for that! after a while of watching it and seeing Pikachu all over the house it kinda.... gets you..

Also the trading card game is fun - it really is, way better than the awful competition (Gheyblade, Yu-Gi-Oh).

Making the ultimate team!
My love of pokemon is slowing. Played since the first Red/Blue came out. I bought HeartGold when it came out but stopped playing after a while, didn't even get to the elite four. Will still get Black/White and maybe play that longer as it has new stuff in it compared to HG/SS.

after watching the first season of this, i've just figured out where the diabolically bad ocuk puns come from.

Never really watched it that much but discovered the game on a school trip with friends and it was great! Think Blue was the one I played with the water pokemon? Great game! :)
