Poker in pubs - legal ?

if its illegal...then how come at my uni there was a poker society...where we played every week....for money...and i dont think they had a gambling licence LOL

Just because it's illegal doesn't stop being doing it, and it's only illegal if your doing it in a licensed premises.

If the pub has a gambling licence then you would be allowed to organise a poker night yeah not sure about just getting the money out on a regular night though.
