Police Interceptors sometimes a waste of time?

The vast majority of people know exactly what they are getting themselves in for before the enter the vehicle.

What about Blackstone's formulation?

"better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer"

English jurist William Blackstone in his Commentaries on the Laws of England, published in the 1760s

I rather enjoyed the young lad on last nights episode who was showing some superb pressed german plates and smoked out rear lights.

the police officer was being rather pleasant to him until he started swearing at him.

then it became a lot more interesting viewing.

Then put the responsibility on the passenger to get out of the car. If they can't, charge the driver for false imprisonment, thus getting the driver into more trouble. That would make people think twice.

I happened to catch this bit of this the other day - that lad's attitude made me rage inside!

I wish I could have seen the lads face when the officer asked if he would like them to do a full vehicle inspection :D

What could possibly go wrong.

Make this legal.

"Right sonny, name the driver or get hit with this large wooden stick"

Several weeks later in court.... "he refused to name the driver your honour"
"fair enough, case dismissed"

Pansy policing/pansy justice/pansy attitude/I blame the left for excess crime committed in this country

And you'd have policemen beating confessions out of people instead without any accountability?

I think you're a fool.

He is a Policeman, please don't try and argue with any kind of decency or logic, you will be faced with idiotic opinions like

And

As if this, as well as them getting away with murder, isn't already happening already?

the problem with the justice system is it attacks people with money. If its chavs causing trouble, there is no money to be taken from it so they get softer sentences. If its a business man driving 25k around the country, getting £60 from him for going 10% over the limit is acceptable.

There's a difference between something happening when it shouldn't and being frowned upon and something being fully legally sanctioned.

When the people who are supposed to be enforcing the laws ignore them and are not punished, and the public to not suitably react, it is as good as sanctioning such despicable nonsense.

Firstly, I'd like you to demonstrate that what you're claiming is actually endemic already.

Secondly, I'd like you to show that those responsible regularly go unpunished.

Thirdly, I'd like you to explain what the public should be doing which they aren't already.

Or are you just still bitter because the police didn't do enough when your man whoring took a turn for the worse, assuming I'm thinking of the right person?

The right to silence should be stronger.

When the police interview you. There job is obtian evidence against you. They have a lot of practise in doing this. They will not try and help you. Everything you say can and will be used against you. The time to speak up should be in court.

This is from personal experince of being sitched up.

I would love the police to be able beat the scum of socity and but in a our lawful socity this cannot be done as inncoent people would also be beat up. And then who chooses who needs a beating?

You, neighbourhood watch, the bullied at school power crazed constable?

exactly. even if you DO have to let some people go, DON'T show it to us on TV. Show all the ones where people get banged up/fined properly.

Sadly the one thing that irritates me about that show is the fact that most of the time the stuff you expect will net huge punishment gets given light punishments.
It seems very unbalanced sometimes.

The other thing that annoys me is that people are able to drive around in an EVO X all day and get paid for it, and not have to pay the running costs of said vehicle!
Jammy Gits!

Whats makes me laugh is that the known scum get away with everything and the hard working man whos made a mistake gets ruined.

I see this a lot, not just on tv shows.

its tragic. for example the guys with no license , no insurance , no job who never intend to get either. they get off with points or a record. like they care about either! infact the record makes it harder for them to get certain job so it is probably a bonus for them.

same situation goes on with benefits. the guy thats worked for his whole life and gets made redundant ends up with the mimimum benefits because he doesnt know he can get more but the scum who never intend to work phone up on their 18th birthday with a list of what they want to claim

This. I stopped reading my local court summary section in my local rag after reading to one chav caught with no insurance, no road tax, no MOT and already banned from driving for previous offences gettting an additional two year ban on his 3 year ban (I mean is that really going to stop him?) and £200 fine plus costs payable at something like £5 per month cause he was on benefits..........

Yet, I know if that had been me cause I have the money to pay for tax, MOT, insurance etc, they would have thrown the book at me.
