Political Signatures

I've noticed a few signatures with political messages appearing on the main forums, which strike me as out of place. "Immigrants - No" is one. Another implying that only whites are labelled rascist in this country and not blacks. While I haven't seen any, I would have issues with signatures supporting non racial politics: eg Pro-Life or Greenpeace.

Am I being too sensitive, or are these signatures inappropriate for a comupting oriented website?

Oh gnoes. People have opinions and beliefs and they wish to share. Whatever will we do!

*n

PS: This is a computing forum?

most of them are in jest, but do have some good points behind them.

I think your being far far to sensitive.
All though you are right, I should get my self a ban Greenpeace signature and a "don't believe the co2 melarky - It's just a cash crop for the goverment"

You know, I forgot this was a computer related website, I thought it was about sending muslims back :p

You know, this is my first venture in the general discussion forum (after 200 odd posts), I didn't realise overclockers was a front for political extremism. I sense a Panorama report... ;)

The only useful things about sigs is that I can identify a poster by their sig if I don't know them very well by their name and also means you can scan a thread looking out for certain sigs so you can find anything worthwhile in the thread. I couldn't honestly care about political sigs, most of them are done by idiots anyway, and it'll be a while before OcUK stops having idiots posting on it :p

TBH im sick of seeing willy waving PC specs in sigs.

Be creative people!

I suppose there is a certain amount of willy waving, but I am sure the majority find the specs useful, if only to provides answers to issues being discussed etc.

Note to self - some people don't think this website is based on our shared love of technology, so tread carefully...

Back to the topic in hand. If OCUK let political signatures lie, where does it end? Links to fascist organisations, Robert Mugabe Appreciation Society, Paedophiles R Us? Why do I have to mess around with Adblock, when all I want to do is fix my totally screwed up new build?

My god, you prune.

Are you a Liberal? Do you feel that with someone having "Some are more equal then others" suddenly makes it possible to have the risk of him post links to fascist organizations? The state of this countries affairs come across truthfully in some peoples sigs, it doesn’t make people skins heads because you deem them to be.

This is the problem with the world.

People are Just far to soft and are offended by absolutely every thing!

OCUK have rules in place and wont let bad websites on the forum, People do have there own opinions though and unless you want to live in a china like state then stop complaining when they say them.

Thank god you never read anything that dirty dog wrote:p
