Yea, im supposed to wear a hearing aid in both ears, but its way more fun if I dont, I prefer the silence!

Yeah I wear them full time too, but like you I sometimes just turn them down really low especially when on the bus when there are babies screaming :-)

I had the normal-sized beige digital ones off the NHS 2004-2011 then they changed them to 2 really small brown ones. They're tiny these days.

Arrgh. 'Politically Correct'?

Who cares what is Politically Correct? Just respond in a manner that seems appropriate to you in the circumstances.

Be nice, be kind, be respectful, or be inappropriate. Don't be Politically Correct.

"Keep trying while I make a cup of tea"

I've got a friend with a really bad stutter. Wait for them to finish, don't complete the word or sentence and don't give them a strange look. It's not as if they don't know they've got a stutter and wish they hadn't.

Absolutely read the title as 'politically correct response to a stunner' and assumed the answer might be something like aesthetically appealing human :o

You're patient and wait for them to finish :/

It's just plain rude if you interrupt them, never mind if they have a stutter

Is it though? If your telling a story with a mate, and finish off a word he gets stuck on and vice versa it's not rude. It's helping them to make them not look stupid.

It's all about context in my opinion, if you say it in a bad way then it'll come across as dickish obviously.

Well yeah, it all depends on the context. If he's your friend and you know for sure what he's gonna say it's probably alright to finish the sentence if he gets stuck.

If not though, it's best to be patient. Look away from their eyes as it lowers the pressure on them, look at their chest or elsewhere whilst waiting for them to finish, and don't start fidgeting or giving them body language "cues" to spit it out.

It is rude. Always let them finish. They will be embarrassed enough without you finishing the word for them.

But if you know the lad it's not rude. It's all about the context. If you didn't know the person you wouldn't know what they were gonna say anyway..well...less likely.

A close friend of mine has a stutter. I complete his words often which he appreciates as he prizes progreasibg the conversation over completing the word personally.

If I didn't know the person, I would wait.
