I'm going to say 5 (about 75% - saving for a house deposit) but I've bought some very extravagant items recently out of those savings. I don't regret them though. :D

I count savings as money I take out of my salary to put away for large future purchases and not spend in that month on randomness.

Roughly 10% into savings p/m and 3% matched into my pension, that's all I can afford to save after paying out for bills, rent, living costs etc...at home whilst having money available in my current account.

We don't save much, but equally nothing is spent frivolously and any money that is unused tends to slosh around until needed. Our current account current has a couple of grand in it. I really ought to move some over to the savings account. Got an ISA too, for our tax credits overpayments

i have about 4 savings accounts, with my partner being 6 months pregnant, 2 emergency savings, 1 baby fund, 1 for personal items. As im now back at home and not renting for the moment i will be saving about 40% of my wages.

Get paid Roughly £1000 p/m
£150 dig money for the parents
£35 mobile phone direct debit.

The Rest (~£800) is for me to have fun with. I Wouldn't mind having a savings account though.
