Given the seeming lead the Cons have, by doing both of those you are effectively voting Tory.

Grow some balls and make a choice.

'Grow some balls', **** off with that. There isn't a choice to make, as far as i'm concerned none of them are worthy of my vote.

So Tories still getting in. Well done.

Voting Tory or not, where I live, will make absolutely no difference. Evans will be getting in either way, but my conscience will be clear.

Isn't there an employers contribution to NI too? How would you handle that? I am certainly not opposed to the idea as NI just goes into general taxation anyway, it isn't ring fenced in any way.
Good point, you'd have to figure out some kind of jigging on the employer side. Given it's essentially a salary cost you could just expect salaries to be increased to compensate workers equally once the increased tax takes effect, though in practise that would be tricky to mandate. You could charge some sort of levy based on total salary costs I suppose. Hmmm.

I'd like to change my vote from the Tories, but then I look at the other options and stick the selection back in Tory :/ I'd be happy with the ConLib coalition again with the same personnel :(

I know what you mean on the first bit but when I think what is most important to get right is brexit, I can't bring myself to choose anyone else. This time I think we need strong Tories and the Libs would only want to pull in the opposite direction.

You've fallen for their strong and stable BS then.

All May has done so far is **** off the people that we'll be negotiating with. That's not strong, that's stupid.

Ah another "Hey EU, we want any sort of deal from you, can we please have one at any cost".

Clueless. This is why I don't trust Labour, they are imbeciles when it comes to common sense.

That's good they ought to know we're not interested in being a push over then. The EU has already started their shanigans in trying to segregate negotiations so they get what's important to them signed off before negotiating trade. Not only would Labour and the Libs roll over with brexit but they'd higher taxes, borrow and spend the country into disaster all over again. I think we need a strong consistent brexit negotiation, now isn't the time for muddle and confusion because the EU will milk that as a weakness.

It is the small things that can make a difference. For me I think it is the nationalisation of the Royal Mail which shows just how out of touch Corbyn is. We are living in the 21st Century and the Royal Mail is no longer the essential service it was, it is likely to get less important rather than more and yet it is deemed important enough to need renationalisation. There is zero vision in Labour's manifesto, it is harkening back to an industrial nation in a post industrial world. Corbyn is wedded to a late 19th Century ideology that just doesn't really make sense in today's world.

You must have missed the stats earlier in the thread that confirm there has been more borrowing and debt over the conservatives time in governments than Labour's

that is pretty meaningless - they've cut the deficit, had labour been in charge there would have been even more debt

There's only 1 party that can be trusted with the economy and getting that right is key to everything else. Key to everything else in a way that's affordable!

AHHH, another brainwashed voter who has been made to believe this election is solely about brexit.

BREXIT will take YEARS, maybe into the next parliament after whoever wins.

And whoever wins the election will not be negotiating anyway, they will have a team of highly skilled lawyers and negotiators doing the work behind closed doors.

Which makes it even funnier that the conservatives constantly bang on about having a strong hand for the talks, its utter crap. T.M will not be doing jack all, she's just a figure to show up at the gatherings and will be far removed from the actual hard work. AND EVERYONE is falling for it, its so funny.

Labour barely mention brexit because this election is about the u.k, nhs, social care, housing, work, economy.

And the conservative manifesto is utterly disgusting! No wonder they took so long to release it.

He's actually not out of touch - 67% of UK agree with R-mail renationalisation

indeed - the various calls for unilaterally guaranteeing rights for EU citizens or for criticising the lack of details just show people don't seem to have a clue re: negotiations

labour have a lot of idiots voting for them purely because they still can't get over the Brexit result - fact is we need 'strong and stable' leadership... it might be an overused campaign slogan but it is true - Corbyn would be happy to bend over and make a complete hash of negotiations

So why not vote Lib dem then if you want a coalition? Voting Tory means its less likely there will be a coalition.

I don't think @RDM meant out of touch with the electorate but rather with the modern economy

so it's ok for other foreign state owned companies to run the UK's rail and energy networks ?

An article ( with many sources in it ) here: http://anotherangryvoice.blogspot.co.uk/2017/05/the-treacherous-hypocrisy-of-anti.html

quote from said article:

"
Here are a few facts
  • When the private operators of the East Coast Mainline bailed out of their contract early because the line was supposedly so unprofitable, a state owned operating company was set up to take over. This soon became the most popular and most profitable franchise on the whole network until the Tories hastily re-privatised it.
  • The Tory policy on state ownership of our rail network is that the only country that should be banned from bidding to run UK rail franchises is ... the UK!
  • Since privatisation in 1994 the UK rail network has become the most expensive in Europe, and it's also one of the least reliable and most overcrowded systems too.

indeed - the various calls for unilaterally guaranteeing rights for EU citizens or for criticising the lack of details just show people don't seem to have a clue re: negotiations
Or maybe they just don't agree with using the lives of their friends and families as bargaining chips in a game of politics.
