Still, even when I was back at my parents with 5 adults there, they were saving with a meter. You really have to be using a lot of water to pay more on a meter.

If you're all taking baths every day, watering the garden, hosing down a fleet of cars etc. then you'll probably be worse off but it's rare for most people with normal household usage to be worse off.

As for subsidy, water companies aren't government subsidised.
Nope, two adults, two kids, showers, dishwasher, washing machine.

Some more revelations from the Telegraph today - seemingly Corbyn had an MI5 file as the security services were worried about his IRA links - with good reason it seems:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/201...d-file-jeremy-corbyn-amid-concerns-ira-links/

He stood on a stage in the Republic the 90s with a wanted IRA man who'd murdered a British army officer while the British government was trying to get him extradited.

He's protested and lobbied on behalf of the Balcombe street gang - if anyone is interested in the sort of people he supported these are some of the attacks of this particular IRA subunit - they literally murdered civilians at random in the UK in a series of attacks:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Provisional_IRA's_Balcombe_Street_Gang#1974

  • 5 OctoberGuildford pub bombings The IRA unit planted 2 bombs in Guildford pubs. The Bomb in the Horse & Groom pub killed 5 people and injured 65. This was the start of "phaze one" of the campaign.[7][8]
  • 11 October – The IRA attacked two different London clubs in the same night, each time using a throw bomb. One person was injured from both attacks.[9]
  • 22 OctoberBrook's bombing The IRA threw a bomb into Brook's club injuring three people.[10][11]
  • 24 October – The IRA bombed a cottage in the grounds of Harrow public school which used to house the head of the school's Combined Cadet Force. Nobody was hurt in the attack. This was the first time the unit gave a telephoned warning before a bombing occurred.[12]
November[edit]
  • 7 NovemberWoolwich pub bombing The IRA threw a bomb into the Kings Arms pub in Woolwich killing 2 people & injuring 30.[13][14]
  • 11 November – London insurance broker Allan Quartermaine is shot dead by the IRA while he was waiting in traffic. It is believed the killing was a case of mistaken identity.[15]
  • 27 November – The IRA carried out two bomb attacks in Tite Street, Chelsea, the first bomb was placed in a post office pillar-box at 8:30 pm. About 20 minutes later a second, larger bomb, exploded close to the second. The second bomb injured 20 people including an explosives officer, six policemen and two ambulancemen.[16]
  • 30 November – The IRA threw two bombs into Talbots Arms pub in Little Chester street injuring five people.[17]
December[edit]
  • 11 December – The IRA threw a bomb into the Long Bar of the Naval and Military Club in Piccadilly. Later on there was an IRA gun attack on the London Cavalry Club. Nobody was hurt in either attack.[18]
  • 14 December – The IRA carried out a gun attack on the Churchill Hotel in London. Three people were injured in the attack.[19]
  • 17 December – The IRA planted three time bombs at telephone exchanges in London. One person (a post office telephonist) was killed.

(and so on... see wiki link for the full list)

He also observed a minutes science for the 8 IRA members who were killed by the SAS in an ambush while on their way to attack a police station...

Not to mention - when questioned on the BBC and asked five times to condemn the IRA he refused to do so:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02z3x45

Now this clearly isn't just establishing dialogue or trying to negotiate peace etc.. he is actually a terrorist sympathiser - happy to both commemorate and protest on behalf of actual murderers. And before anyone tries to turn this into a more 'general' election thread I fully appreciate that some people don't like the Tories but I'd question why anyone would think having this man in charge of our security services would be a good idea... there are other opposition parties to support after all - I don't think the Lib Dem leader is an IRA fan boy.

Could you imagine if a UK political leader actively advocated on behalf of ISIS or Al Qaeda today? Or perhaps protested on behalf of the Lee Rigby Killers or commemorated the July 7th bombers... It would be pretty unthinkable, yet we now have a man wanting to become prime minister who has done things not too dissimilar to that.

Oh here we go. Does Thatcher and Pinochet ring a bell? How about our arms sales to Saudi?
I'd take Corbyn over May any day of the week.
Are you getting worried dowie after Mays latest 'OMGZ 6 seats of Corbyn gets in!!' tweet

yes we would, why on earth do you think that repatriated profits from overseas would be exempt from corporation tax in the UK?

Not if they had paid tax on the income in the overseas country, else that would be double dipping and there are plenty of tax laws and treaties to avoid that

Honestly I think he genuinely thinks you can shortcut to the end result of making everything peaceful just by just being "decent" towards people and that somehow that will bring it out in them as well - I don't think he is actually a terrorist sympathiser just deluded.

I have no idea how people can't see through the deceitfully projected persona he wears - this isn't a man who cares about people he cares about the bigger institution of things i.e. socialism not the people that make up that institution or society - to him sitting down with dissidents or terrorists isn't a big deal because he believes he is furthering the goal of the institution. (Hopefully someone can explain it better than the mess I've made of trying to do it).

EDIT: I hate to tell people how to think etc. but honestly anyone voting for Corbyn or May in this election are being taken for fools and I wish more could see it.

One mans freedom fighter....

Propergander.

hardly - when you're talking about someone who wants to be prime minister of the UK happy to stand shoulder to shoulder with a man who killed one of our army officers or support and lobby for those who randomly murdered UK civilians... he wants to govern the country whose citizens were murdered by this group. He's not an Irish Catholic who grew up on the bog side and affiliates himself with the Republic he's a British citizen running for office in the UK!

Thatcher isn't running in the election and arms sales to foreign countries occurred under the previous Labour governments too... this is all pretty irrelevant tbh.. neither of those things have anything to do with supporting a group that murdered British citizens and British military personnel

You're not voting for him, you're voting for your local MP.

Technically doesn't matter who you are voting for, you are effectively voting Tory unless people actually stand united in voting for something different which with the way our current democracy is setup ain't likely to happen.

Not if they had paid tax on the income in the overseas country, else that would be double dipping and there are plenty of tax laws and treaties to avoid that

doesn't always work like that - the corporation tax often isn't paid overseas

https://www.gov.uk/government/publi...ent-in-the-uk#uk-companies-operating-overseas

Most major economies operate Corporation Tax in the same way as the UK, so UK resident companies are treated in a similar way in other countries. In other words, UK companies do not pay Corporation Tax to another country on the profits from sales in that country, unless they trade through a permanent establishment there. Instead, they pay Corporation Tax on those profits in the UK.

Obviously there can be subsidiaries that might pay and that will be offset as mentioned. Similarly we get screwed in the UK by the likes of Starbucks who opt to pay more of their tax overseas... thanks to transfer pricing and certain low tax EU countries...

Given that May is continuing Cameron's record of rank incompetence in dealing with the EU, and has chosen to appoint a trio of idiots to the key roles in cabinet for the negotiations I find it hard to imagine that Corbyn could possibly be worse at negotiating with the EU than May. The negotiations are all set to be a national embarrassment under May.

How many terrorist bombs did Pinochet set off in British Pubs/Clubs/Shopping centres/Schools/Etc Etc?
