It was the right wing media who got him elected in the first place.

When the leadership competition first started he was a nobody who was only added to the list to give the illusion of choice, then the right wing media inexplicably laid into him for no reason, ranting how he was super left and a terrible choice/etc. This caused young left wing voters to flock to the de facto enemy of the right and elect him with a rabid devotion that has persisted so much some of them actually believe he's going to win this election lol, when the reality is most likely to be the worst defeat since '83.

And I don't believe for one second that the right wing brought this all about by fluke accident, I called it at the time and I'm actually enjoying seeing it unfold lol.
you're enjoying, in your words, the lack of opposition which can allow a party to be held largely to no account? you're revelling in your lack of choice? wow, you must be as smart as you say you are

B@

not vice versa because it simply doesn't work vice versa - the issues arise with things like funding decisions made in Westminster which are then mirrored in Scotland... That simply doesn't happen the other way around.

Thats easily solvable. Devolved parliaments should be responsible for raising money for their spending decisions from their population.

is there a place you can find out how the election went last time in your area? link?

You local council will have it on their website with exact votes for all candidiates eg here is Richmond's

http://www.richmondshire.gov.uk/ima...f_results_Parliamentary_7.36am_08.05.2015.pdf

General results here of just the main parties

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election/2015/results

If you want a full breakdown by ward plus a forecast based on current polls as to how the votes will go next time this is a good site

http://www.electoralcalculus.co.uk/cgi-bin/seatdetails.py?seat=Bishop Auckland It gives you all the demographics as well like average age and education etc.

So May won't guarantee the triple lock on pensions. She must be so confident she's not even bothered if pensioners getting upset.

indeed - could just have a federal system... in fact I'd quite like to see England broken down into a few different regions - why should the South East have to fund/subsidise the rest?

Agree you could refer to the capital as district one. Give the other regions various numbers.....
Maybe organise some annual event involving people from each district.

14 police forces have now sent files to the CPS regarding Conservative election expenses. Convenient time for an election to try and boost their majority.

Yeah since potentially I think they were looking at up to 30 by-elections. They "could" have ended up with no majority if they hadnt called an election.

All not standing for re-election. I wonder if any of them are among those potentially about to be prosecuted?

Well there's another failing for Corbyn, what did he do to help that cause?

I'm pretty sure he was a remain, not 100% though!

I'm of the opposite view Corbyn is old school Labour which was always very suspicious of Europe/EEC during the Wilson years, I believe Crobyn is cut from the same cloth. It wasn't really Tony Blair showed up that Labour become Europe friendly which wasn't long after the Tories started becoming more EU skecptic.

Jeremy Corbyn will not take part in TV debate without Theresa May

Smart move. Appearing with the also-rans only makes him seem like a minor league leader and, as we saw with Ed Miliband, it ends up being all-against-Labour. The only problem is that it weakens Labour's "May is a chicken *bwuck* *bwuck* *bwuck*" line on her avoiding the debates.

Appearing in a TV debate intended to showcase opposition parties would certainly be a mistake.

Personally, I'd only agree to appear if the PM is "empty chaired", turning her absence and unwillingness to defend her record into a running joke. It could be an utter disaster, but Labour need some bold moves to change the narrative.

Would an effigy of the PM, seated in her place, be a step too far?
