Evening all,

After a few comments in the Manc Meet and prospective RR Day Meets, I've come up with an idea (yep, i know, thinking hurts :p)

Would anyone be up for doing a massive UK Motors Meet? Say in Birmingham, as its mostly centralised?

1. Yes, I'd love to see a UK Motors Meet
2. No, keep them seperate for now

Yay or Nay?

Cheers :)

Good idea westy. Do you mean have all meets on the same day? RR and some 'circuit' driving like on the Manc Meets?

The only thing I can think about it is it won't be as special. These little meets are basically get togethers until the big RR meet in the Summer, which I've come to think as one of the major points of OcUK motors.

If we combine them all, there'll be one big meet in the Summer (which probably won't differ from the RR day in terms of what happens on the day) and no other meets during spring/winter months.

I think that even for a lot of people who live in a fairly central location (like myself) doing an RR meet then going somewhere else can turn into doing mega miles.

There is also the time issue, that the RR takes a few hours at least. Heading off to other places as well may leave little time for driving.

I think decide on a date for the MM3 date and go with it. I can see the RR day being a little bit later to be honest.

I personally like the format of the mm meets as do others i hope, its supposed to be a smaller local meet, although it keeps getting larger. But as i help organise the mm meets i am biased and say let mm continue. ;)

ok.. so i'm the only one who voted yes :) and the reason i did was the idea of having a really big meet with everyone turning up would be great, may be pretty hard to organise and really shouldn't be done instead of the other ones, but still a big ceteral motors meet would be pretty cool imho

It would be cool but as a diff event, i would love seeing 50 or so OCUK cars going down the road :)

Read my long post in the mm3 date thread, it has an option which you may like. :)

The format of the MM meet are simple and it works, so why fix it if it aint broken. Besides MM meets wouldnt be complete without various landmarks such as dead mans junction and of course 172 corner.

:D Two very famous landmarks!

At MM3, I WILL get video footage of people overshooting the junction :D

I swear i'm still not 100% on where Dead Man's Junction is!

Agreed it would be great to have a big meet.
Disagree about merging 'local' meets that already happen.

I thought last years Rolling Road had a large attendance, including many from the Manchester area? An RR sounds ideal to me as the basis for the h'official OcUK Motors Meet.
