Maybe if Theresa May didn't cut the police force by 19.5% since her time as Home Secretary, they would have had the resources to deal with them.

She needs to resign and remove herself from the running.
But funding for counter-terrorism went up.

But is it not possible she does not get a place in the cabinet if they were to actually win?
Yet having her and others front and centre of the current shadow cabinet and in this campaign, demonstrates what an utter shambles the Corbyn administration ala Labour are in. Don't get me wrong; the entirety of UK politics is in shambles.

Which shambles do I vote for?

taken from AAV FB feed :

The Manchester Muslim community reported Salman Abedi for extremism at least five times.

♦ The United States warned us that Abedi was planning a terrorist attack against the UK. - Right, so now we all love Trump's America rather than pumping out a continuous stream of fake news as per previous thread.
2666.png
♦ Abedi was known to have been in the lawless terrorism breeding-grounds of Libya and Syria. - Yep, lets lock up all 30,000 UK nationals who have taken extended 'holidays' to these areas. I think we've ruled out internment, right?
2666.png
♦ Abedi was allowed to pass through the UK border unhindered. - Corbyn voted against stopping people coming back into this country after visiting dodgy parts of the world as having unpalatable views is not an offence.
2666.png
♦ After the attack the government claimed the secret services were too busy to watch him. - Watching one suspect 24/7 requires 60 full time officers. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukn...on-of-terror-suspects-can-be-watched-247.html
2666.png
♦ Khuram Butt was reported for extremism by the Muslim community several times. - But Prevent doesn't work and Corbyn wants to scrap it, a policy brought in by the previous Labour government. Also, security professionals make the decision regarding threat level, not politicians.
2666.png
♦ Butt was such a high profile extremist he was featured in the Channel 4 documentary "The Jihadis Next Door"! - If only everyone expressing extremist view could be locked up eh? So long as they're not inciting violence or members of a banned group free speech and all that.
2666.png
♦ The Tories were repeatedly warned that they were neglecting their duty to protect the public with their ideologically driven police cuts, but they ignored the warnings and carried on cutting. - More bobbies on the beat won't stop terrorists. Counter terrorism budgets and numbers have increased.

It's incredible that there's not mass public pressure on Theresa May and Amber Rudd to resign immediately, let alone that more people are apparently preparing to vote Tory now than in 2015!

Vote Labour and get a Home Secretary who wants to abolish MI5 and Special Branch: http://www.express.co.uk/news/polit...et-IRA-General-Election-2017-Early-Day-Motion But she's changed her hair style since then so has probably changed her mind on this too.

and people keep blindly backing the Tories, its like they just dont care.
Quite stunning considering the Torys are supposed to be the party of 'law and order' and most blazer wearing swivel eyed loons put that above everything else. And yet, May has gutted the police, crime has gone through the roof, we have suffered 3 terrorist attacks in the last few months, and yet May plans to cut the police even more!
But yeah, vote Tory hur hur.

That's an Independent article, based on a Daily Fail article, based on "anonymous sources", AKA tripe. It's actually really really easy to tell it's tripe, because the Fail's anonymous (AKA imaginary) sources claim that our security sources were warned about him by the FBI (domestic intelligence and security service of the United States) who don't operate outside the US, now if the Fail had claimed it was the CIA who passed on the info there would have been a shred of credibility (not much of course as it's a DM article citing anonymous sources). But as it stands this one should be filed under clickbait/fakenews.

I imagine the lies will intensify in the next 48 hours. Its going to be quite funny to read who wants to do X and who wants to do Y. To be honest I wouldn't believe anything you read in the press until Friday :|

The 2015 budget increased it by 30%.

Hmm lets look closely at that shall we. It was an extra £500m on "counter terrorism"

The fund will build up gradually, reaching a peak of £1.5bn annually by the end of this Parliament in 2020.

It will be shared between the Foreign Office (FCO), Ministry of Defence (MoD), the Department for International Development (DfID) and the three intelligence agencies: MI5, MI6 and GCHQ.

Departments will have to bid for funding from the pot but it has yet to be decided who will make the allocations.

How that breaks down between the three agencies is kept secret but counter-terrorism remains the priority and spending on that is to be protected in real terms, rising in line with inflation.[/quote]

So we really have no idea where the money got spent except that counter terrorism spend had to rise in line with inflation and as others have said, whats the point in counter terrorism if you don't have the resources to action the things you find?
