Polynesians

Hi, recently, we did a family tree and traced my ancestry, and I discovered I am mostly of polynesian decent, which I didn't even really know, apart from my mum once telling me we had relatives from Samoa.

I was just wondering if there are any polynesians on the forum?

Yep, my grand father is Samoan, by grand mother's father was Samoan as well, and her mother half samoan / european.

My family has been traced back to Germanic descent. Polynesian descent is pretty cool though. Good excuse to go and visit the area.

I have slightly polynesian features, flatter / rounder nose is the most noticeable. And tanned skin, dark wiry hair as well.

When we traced ours back we found out we're actually of Italian descent.

My mother is Portuguese but her grandfather on her paternal side was Spanish, and her grandmother on her maternal side was French, everyone else is Portuguese. My father is English with Scottish roots, so quite a mixture.

I've been reasonably far back and it turns out my family originated from Scotland

I try and keep it quiet though

. With a surname like Ross it's no suprise really and one of grandparents surname was McVeigh (sp)
