Thought this would be an interesting idea for a thread. What games or game series' that have been generally regarded as being very good have you not enjoyed, or couldn't see what the fuss was all about?

Some for me are...

Zelda series

Deus Ex

Shenmue series

Oblivion

Gears (Pretty, but that is all)
Zelda, i just don't get it
Final Fantasy, guess maybe i just aint an RPG person
oh and dare i say it, Halo and Halo 2. Especially Halo 2

GoW
Rainbow Six: Vegas
GRAW 1 & 2

(I'm not anti fps! these just really didn't do it for me)

Sims, Sims 2 and all expansion packs for both.

But off the top off my head:

Halo 1/2/3
MGS (any of them)
Final Fantasy (Oh the boredom)
 
All Racing games (except Mario kart and Burnout)
Oblivion.
PDZ (when it was popularish I was calling it a stinking pile of ****)
GRAW 2 ... Isn't it GRAW with better Graphics?
THUG - Tony Hawks hit its peak at THPS3
Splinter Cell (bar the first one) - Just didn't grab me after the first one. Nothing wrong with the games but I just CBA with them.

Watched a mate play Shenmue II all the way through (I was playing FFVII next to him) I couldn't grasp what was so good about the game. Also, due to severe hand cramp on my mates part, I had to do the final boss for him. Well considering I had never played the game (or on a DC at that point) 3 attempts isn't too bad.

Any Non-Liniar RPG, Basically if it is sandbox/free form then I cant play it. FF, Fable thats my style of RPG.

IVe never really been a fan of:

Final Fantasy
Metal gear solid
And the halo single player, multiplayer is awesome.
 
Halo,
Gears Of War (own it but don't see what's so good about it),
Zelda (aside from the SNES one, that was good),
Mario (aside from the NES original and SMW on the SNES, that was good),

above all else 'The Sims'.
 
Final Fantasy (all of them), Oblivion, World of Worldcrap. Infact, any RPGs or strange japanese games whereby you trade pixie poop for gold :)

I like racing/shoot 'em ups/platformers/puzzle games etc. I want to blow stuff up, race around london at 200mph etc, 'real' games. If i wanted to stand around talking to weirdo's and trade some old crap for some other old crap I'd go down my local computer exchange!

Split screen rocks, I think I would get bored playing through by myself.


For me it would be:

Halo 1/2/3

Civ 3 (No where near as good as 2 or 4).
