Porch costs

Hi I was wondering what the typical price would be for building a porch? I am worried that it'll make the hallway a bit darker though, so kinda contemplating on a porch vs a new front door.

I think getting one will help keep heating costs down in the home.

someone quoted me about 5K to build a porch, and this is based in the south east btw

is that a reasonable quote?

5K for how big? Brick? half brick and uPVC?

I was quoted around £6.5k for a 2m x 3m porch that was 1/3rd height brick wall and then uPVC with a pitched roof, I did query about all brick but was told roughly the same price.

I live up in Lincolnshire.

not entirely massive like 1.5m x 2m. Half brick with the rest UPVC

6.5k sounds quite expensive but probably everything has now gone up in price.

yer I think it's crazy also but surely most of the cost will go into the doors/windows
so if the porch is like mostly doors/windows it will add up quickly.
