Looking for some info on these if anyone has any experience of them?

Looking to get one next month but would like some info on where to buy, what accessories (consumables) that i need to get with it.

And pics also of your results ;)

Cheers,

Phil

doesnt merlin have one, im sure he showed pics of before and after on his old mr2

Its a Vauxhall Astra.

The colour is Ceramic Blue, kind of a blue/purple..

I would be looking to use it for other vehicles than my own aswell :)

get onto www.detailngworld.co.uk

What car do you have/colour? Different paints tend to have different levels of hardness and thus require different polishes/glazes etc.

Also- i think it was eidolon (sp?) who had the MR2 turbo and the PC.

yes yes, it was eidolon!
well remembered :]

I had a PC, bought it from the states and bought a lot of stuff with it, various polishes/waxes/glazes etc with numerous pads. I never really got on with it, i was never sure if i was using it properly due to the conflicting instructions i kept getting from various different ppl. I ended up selling mine a few months after purchase. You can spend £200 pretty quickly on a PC and a few accessories, im thinking about buying a Rotary polisher off ebay, the cheap 1's start at about £30. Rotary polishers can correct defects a lot quicker then a PC mainly due to the fact they can spin a lot quicker but with this added power comes added danger of burning your paint, it does take a fair bit of welly and incompetance for this though. IMO buy a rotary off ebay and go to a local scrappy and grab a knackered panel to practise on, when you feel confident enough attempt your own car.

yep, it was me but the MR2 was only ever done by hand as I bought the PC when I got the Elise.

Just get the PC, a few different pads and whatever products you need (I use Poorboys SSR 2.5/Pro Polish and Nattys paste wax)

The best place to ask questions would be http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/

Bought mine from Autopia...and they replaced it (without question) when it died prematurely. Brilliant service.

Plenty of pad choice with the PC, although nothing wrong with the Sonus pads to start with...as mentioned, detailingworld will help you out no end. As far as pics:

Excellent bits of kit in my opinion, but you need to ask yourself if it is worth it. A keen detailer like me will only use mine a few times a year at best and at a near £200 outlay to get you using it, its expensive.

My offer to PC a panel for any curious people near me remains, just let me know ;)

If you have a farely new car or something slightly rare and you want to keep it in mint condition then a PC from the looks of it will really help. For me it would be an excuse to get outside doing some more activity rather than sitting infront of the other PC :D

To be fair, if you have a new car, then a good washing routine should mean that you never need to use something like the PC.

Perhaps we should do a group buy on the actual machine and pass it on between eachother, what's the cost of the actual machine?

If enough people were interested then somebody could buy one and rent it out too, just an idea!

True but defects can happen by accident & a PC is not only for defect removal it also speeds up normal waxing routines which may get neglected in this weather as the time between rains can be very short. If i could cut down my product application or removal time then I would definately feel more inclined to do it rather than spend 3 - 4 hours washing and waxing.

Here are some pictures when I used my PC on my Leon Cupra R. Platinum Grey isnt the best colour for showing off the results of PCing but never mind.
I dont think I have any of my Audi A3, but I will have a look.
