Posh Haircuts - Tip the hair washer / head massager?

Ha, all you people who 'think' your hair is cut better by somebody expensive are mostly having a laugh.

Seriously, try a local barber. A place for proper men to moan about female football officials.

The best barber round me is owned by a bird!

Mind you, the barber I went to as a lad was right at the other end of the spectrum and was always telling dirty jokes and trying to flog dodgy tracksuits.

i pay 5.50-6.50 usually he asks what he charged me last time lol..

its a decent barbers with he walls covered with boxing photos and a pair of boxing gloves real men enter and real men leave.

non of this nancy stylist rubbish its a waste of money cutting hair is cutting hair... aslong as your barber keeps up with modern styles and techniques he is just as good as someone who chargews 50 quid more.

most people go to these expensive stylists and get someone junior doing it FFS and pay a fortune you might aswell goto your local college than does a hairdressing course and get it for free they will be just as experienced...

ill stick with my local barber who has been cutting hair for atleast 10 years.

i get a proper scissor cut to btw its not a #4 all over chav job and i never feel rushed

You got a boner when the guy gave you a head massage, and hope to silence his protests with a fiver?!

;)

Can we have some pics of the posh barnet (no gay). To answer your question, it's not necessary, no.

As a bit of an aside, one of the very nice things about New Zealand is that there is a culture of not tipping for anything. I once actually offended a barman by almost forcing the money on him; thought he was going to punch me, hehe.

£3.50??? That must be a <10 minute cut, surely?

what do you get? a 10minyte cut and some work experience junior lacky washing your hair for 20minutes on minimum wage? if your a man your hair isnt likely to be long and you can wash it your self and im sure you dont need a stylist every morning when your getting ready for work

Almost, but then I accidentally :(.

To the non-tippers: don't take that attitude to America! You'll get more than just foul looks!

most americans i know dont get absurd service charges added on like the people on holiday...

they see tourists coming from a mile away and expect them to tip double or triple a regular american would expect to

Haircuts cost £8.50 at the local barbers. I give the girl £10 if she's made the effort to engage me or has done a decent job.

Only time I spent more and went to a posh place was the day of my wedding and the mrs had pre-booked it.

I tip my barber, always. Plus the header washer, nasal trimmer, floor sweeper, cashier and anyone who holds the door for me on the way out. My final gesture upon leaving is to tip my hat to all and sundry.
