I swapped 2x1Gb modules of OCZ DDR3 PC3 Gold for the above and now, since I swapped, I get problems once or twice a week with my machine freezing completely. To sort things I have to reseat the memory modules then the PC will go fine again again. I have tried using the alternate channels in my mobo but get exactly the same thing. When it goes everything is fine - 12 hours Prime95 stable.

The only thing I can think of is that each heat cycle of starting and stopping the PC is allowing the memory to come unseated somehow. I run everything at default speeds and my case is well ventilated and cooled. CPU @ 42C according to Real Temp at idle.

Has anyone else had this issue or know how to solve it? I don't really want to go back to 2Gb of memory.

I have 2 x 2GB platinum and 2 x 2GB Gold OCZ in the same machine and have not had any problems at all. It is surprising you need to reseat your memory, but it could indicate a motherboard fault. Occasionally I have come across faulty motherboards which will reboot after they have been earthed. It may be that you are doing that and actually reseating the RAM is not the issue. Next time try placing your fingers on components/tracks near the memory without touching the socket and try rebooting.
