I hope people are aware that it will be difficult getting a 390X on launch date due to the high number of 4' high ~~green~~ red Martians dressed in tin foil hats snapping up the first batch.

I know this is true because it is on Fudzilla WCCFTech and a lot of the informed Chinese websites.

All I can say is I really, genuinely hope AMD thoroughly pull it out of the bag for this one and it's significantly better than the TX (and I'm an nvidia/ Gsync user).

Shake it up I say - We need the competition, primarily to curb Nvidia's blatant, creeping price gouging.

Sounds promising if correct and hopefully the render isn't true and there is in fact a DL-DVI, as I can see that being a problem for some. I seriously hope it is faster than the Titan X as well and this is coming from an nVidia fan boy. I want to see good, healthy competition and long may it continue

I hope the render image is true. Technology moves on, you can't expect DL-Dvi to stay mainstream forever.. It's big, takes up space it's video only. It's replaced with much better DisplayPort smaller, audio and video.

My monitor has just about every input i've ever seen so i'm sorted no matter what it comes out like. I've never been in such a position

Now, the decision needs to be made. A 490x/390x whatever they call it. Another 290x or insure my car.. orrr.. just leave the thing alone for a couple of months as i've only had it 4 months!

tbh im not bothered how higher the performance is. it's the price that is key also. if it's £600-800 then it's stupid even for 60-70% faster over the 290x

I would really like to hear people's thoughts as it seems to have been proven 100% fake now and can be listed as busted in the rumour mill thread.

AMD would have known how long the card was going to be from very early on surely, not sure if it predates the HBM revelations but I'm surprised nobody ever pieced it together.

Possibly a prototype cooler shroud for a higher clocked 290x that was canned? Its even possible it was just the 1st iteration of the 295x2 cooler then they changed the fan placement.

That is one very weird looking little card. Just looks like someone has made their own estimate to how the card looks based on the render from yesterday and made a side on pic.

Thought so, as i said it looked like a version someone made to try and give a side on view from the original render

Apparently the original article has been updated to show the fiji chip, albeit the bare edge of it. And another "teaser" pic at the bottom of the new card, though really it just shows an led and a piece of tubing.
