Hey guys, could you pls advice, really need help with this one I did try a search on the forums but came up with nothing.
I've set up a Limited Account in XP Home for the sole purpose of letting guests/mates/family members etc. have access to the Internet and to play games ONLY.
After I set it up I hopped back into my account, opened two Explorer windows and copy-pasted the game shortcuts, Yahoo Messenger etc. onto the Limited Accounts desktop.
Then logged into the Limited Account to test them. None of the games worked, some would not start while Ghost Recon AW said it "could not write the installation to disk" and then quit.
Yahoo Messenger refused to work but Internet Explorer works fine.
I then tried all of the above but using my admin credentials this time - and they all worked fine.
Of course theres no point making a Limited account if I have to leave my Windows login name & pw on a Post-It for people to run the apps above.
Three questions really:
1. Is there a way to make the shortcuts on the Limted Account desktop remember that they have admin priveleges? - so the user only needs to doubleclick and away they go. (Instead of having to enter it each time)
2. If the above is possible can the admin login & password be starred (****) out if someone right-clicks a shortcut to take a peek?
3. Is there 3rd party software out there that can do this if the above is not possible in XP Home?
Would really appreciate guru-input, thanx
