Post any 690 news here please.

But what they can do is design the game for PC then port it to console. It is currently the other way around which it shouldn't be

This TBH. When we get a game, 95% of the time it is gpu intensive, just because they have ported it from console in possibly a lazy fashion. Not all the time though, Alan Wake looks good on PC (not my type of game though) but GTA 4 was just a shambles.

When you think they design and create the game on PC, it should be us getting the best and first :(

Just a little bit of solid information about VRAM usage and PCI-E 3.0 bandwidth by Vega in the monitor section of the forum.

He is running at a resolution of 4320x2304, which is 60% more pixels than when using three 1080p monitors.

I would recommend checking the entire thread out as it's very interesting, although most of it is off topic.

I think you will find 4Gb is a MASSIVE exageration.

What GPU do you have PeeDee? As i believe if you have 2 or even dual gpu then the memory is shown as double of what you are actually using. So in total you are using 1825.5MB VRAM.

yes, but not properly :p

You run into GPU limitations before VRAM. However, having so much power on a single card, in this one case, you run into VRAM before GPU limitations.

I agree Cleee, multi monitor setups will show the lack of VRAM when settings on BF3 are bumped up. Frame returns were still good until it ran out of VRAM. This has been proved with quad SLI already by vega in the monitor section.

What would be a very tempting card for any tri monitor setup is a 690 with 4+4GB of VRAM and it wouldn't surprise me to see one of these at some stage.

Wishful thinking maybe but you never know.

Somewhere in here :)

@Gregster - don't think there's been a single dual VRAM dual GPU card made? Not one be heard of. (excluding the mars and ares cards)

I have not heard of one either except as you say the Mars and Ares cards. Maybe those 2 could give one of the manafacturers inspiration... If they did, I am sure I could get a second mortgage :p
