I bought the 1st Compendium (48 issues) after watching the series.....and it puts the series to shame.

But i am also looking forward to see what they do differently in the series.

If its going to be anything like the comics (some stuff is different) then we have a LOT to look forward too!

It's not rubbish, but it is certainly fair to say that the cinematography makes up for the weak story.
