how are you finding the combined weight v's the 'worktop' you've made? from the looks of it there are no supports and you could end up with a nasty mess if it starts to sag!! no offence dude!!;)

hehe :D

its surprisingly solid, although i do get a bit paranoid if someone leans on it, about £2ks worth of equipment on there :p

Nice monitors i looked at tehm too how are you finding them?

Andy

seriously good, they were £229 for the pair and they sound so good, although mp3's sound crappy :p using the XLR out on the mixer with *** RCa going to my sub :) i reckon they sound better than my mission floorstanders (although they have ripped woofers)

they can go plenty loud enough and are very solidly made :) they kick out a lot fo sound considering their size

Im really tempted to source a good set of active speakers. reverted back to a tiny room with parents so can only have laptop, midi controller and monitors. decks and records are packed up in garage. im gutted

Thread revival time! My latest setup...

:O i have a RMX too :D

Are you using Tracktor?

Have you had a play with your tks file?

Andy

EDIT: looks like your using the nasty version of virtual dj :( jump over to Tracktor its far better.

Ive changed some of the midi settings so if you wanna try my set up file you can ;)

Hi mate, that would be great! I'm new to the whole 'virtual dj' scene - have always use vinyls and cds! If you could give me a couple of pointers, they would be much appreciated!

VDJ that comes bundled with RMX is the LE edition ie does sod all, but the buttons line up perfectly for the console.

Tracktor imo has far better options and just seems nicer to use. After remapping my midi buttons it works extremely well with the RMX.

I've been using traktor with a behringer bcd3000 solidly for past few weeks. It took me agess to find a suitable midi mapping file and i've modded it slightly but now it works like a charm. can't afford going onto beatport this much though.

I just use my bro's setup!
He's just gone from 2 x 1210MK5's and a Vestax PMC-07 Pro (25th Anniversary Edition) and Serato, over to 2 MK3 CDj1000's and a DJM600.
Quality bits of kit!

No longer do I have to use Virtual DJ!

lot of dust on the deck, its only really used for ripping vinyl, a never ending task, a battered vestax pcv-275 pro but works perfectly, and the daddy of all digital decks, Denons flagship DN-HS5500, there was 2 of them but I couldnt justify having the pair when each is 2 decks in itself, and with a wedding coming up I needed the cash, I prefer to use it with an external HDD but unfortunately, with over 20000 mps in my collection, the LCD display is too small to search for tracks quickly enough unless you prepare smaller folders which just contain the set you are going to play, so im mostly using PCDJ Reflex in MIDI mode, which is pretty good, but its early days for the software yet, sometimes it drops the controller and you have to press a button to reconnect, which is a pain, the unit is flawless off its own back though, I love it, blows Pioneer out of the water

closeup of the beast, I swapped the plastic platter out for a 7" vinyl, its the worlds first available spinning MIDI platter, its just like using a regular turntable, static jogs are just so crap, its currently displaying both layers info, which is less detailed than when using in DSYNC mode with a 2nd player, which is why I prefer to use reflex for off the cuff mixing...

I'm looking to get into the DJing side of life rather than producing music, I was wondering what cdjays you guys could recommend for around about 200-400?

I've already got some fostex PM-1 monitors and a behringer vmx200 mixer for my studio setup.

Id love to get back into this. i never took it seriously first time around and I basically just messed around and couldnt mix much for crap.

but now im getting back into tunage again and a pair of cd decks would be immense.

Cool thread, never looked in this forum before.

Got so much kit, I wouldn't know hwere to start.

Got loads of Denon stuff, a OODJ and RCF active speakers.

When playing out I usually take a Numark CDN-88, Cortex hard drive player and vestax mixer.

How do I put pics up?
