Potentially lost £35 for no fault of my own - Parcelforce refunds

Anyway, it must be a pretty special chair to warrant £35 delivery. You can get a decent chair for 50 quid delivered new.

If you consider Argos and IKEA chairs decent....


Don't see why they won't refund some of the money, if the item is not picked up and delivered then their costs are greatly reduced in terms of fuel and wages.

As discussed in the thread it would seem to depend on the relevant T&Cs.

According to the latest version I can find Parcelforce is entitled to charge in full for failed collections that aren't its fault.

The earlier version (which appears to be the one on their website) doesn't seem to cover this eventuality.
 
It is normal practice for couriers to make at least some sort of charge when they send a driver in to collect goods that cannot (for whatever reason) be handed over.

It costs money to send a driver to pick something up!
