potentially stupid outlook 2007 question

So I just started using outlook 2007. The idea was that I can check all my emails in one place.

I have an account which is an exchange account that set up without any problems.

But I have a gmail account which i set up following the instructions given by google:

Now I can send emails from that account via outlook, but can't see any received emails be it read or unread. Why is this?

About to try adding my hotmail account to see how that goes...

Where you create the account, did you try test account settings and see if it can send a test email? If not, then it should give you an error why.

Yes. It sends emails just fine, it just has nothing in the inbox.

Okay so it turns out that it's just a bit slow; it decided to get round to downloading my messages a few hours later.
