Just got a wall power monitor in the post yesterday. Decided to check the power usage on my rig, full spec below.

i7 920 do @ 4ghz, 20x200, 1.2930 vcore
Asus p6t deluxe v2
6gb ocz reaper, 1600mhz
Asus xonar dx pcie audio card
2 x gigabyte gtx 470 @750/1500/1674
LG blu ray drive
2 x 7200 rpm sata hdd's
1 fan controller
1 antec spotcool
8 fans, 6 case and 2 cooler fans
Corsair hx 850w psu
Benq fp241w 24" lcd monitor

I had to run with the monitor and pc both connected to the monitoring unit, (will rearrange some other appliances so that pc only is monitored). Results below.

Idle, 287w
Load, ran heaven bench, max of 604w.

With both prime 95, (small fft) and furmark running (extreme burn @1920x1200, 4xmsaa), 866w,

Furmark alone, 742w

Prime95 alone, 429w

Definitely wouldnt reccomend running both at once, even though the hx850w is rumoured to be able to run well over it's rated wattage.

When I did my 480 GTX with Furmark and Prime running my system was pulling 615w.

With my 580 this pulled 500w, I think I need to do a software mod to get the full amount out of the card.

My monitor is also being ran of the same monitoring power strip as the pc RJC, iirc the benq fp241w is rated at 90w, sli gtx 470's at 750/1500/1674. On the anandtech comparison, do they just count the case compnents as "total system draw", or do they include the monitor as well?

Ill have to see if i can source an extension or adapter, (all other plugs in use).:o If the monitors rated usage of 90w is indeed accurate, the pc alone should be drawing 776w ono running both apps.
