Power supply went bang

The PSU in my PC, a Corsair HX520W, just made a loud bang and blew out the house electrics. When plugged in again it no longer powers up. It's a couple of years old, and I think it came with a five year guarantee, so hopefully OCUK will be able to provide a replacement.

Just wondering how likely it is that the components in my machine will have been fried by the PSU going bang? Does this happen a lot?

think you'll have to go to corsair not ocuk as they only do the 1st year then the rest will be with the manufacturer(i.e. corasiar).

only way to tell if anything else was damaged would be to either test in another pc or plug in a new psu.

Chances are that if the PSU went bang then it would have protected the rest of the components
in the system, everything should be ok m8. Obviously though there is always a chance it
could have taken something else with it but i doubt it.

Corsair PSU. Everything should be fine. They're pretty solid and good at protecting your components.

Also have fun with the Corsair support - I'm not promising anything, but as I believe they might no longer produce the 520W they'll probably replace it with a slightly more powerful model :)
