Firstly, I apologise if this is in the wrong forum, wasn't sure where to post.

I have an LG GGC-H20L Blu-ray player and using PowerDVD that came with it. I've had no problems playing blu-rays in the past, but today I bought the extended edition of Avatar and it will not play.

I put the disc in, PowerDVD loads, it shows 'Load' then 'Play' in the top right corner, but then the screen goes black and theres no activity from the drive.

I've tried the Upgrade button, but the only option I get is to buy PowerDVD 9 Ultra, no option to download any updates.

I have Windows XP Service Pack 3 and PowerDVD 7.3.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Try the 21 day trial of AnyDVD HD, according to the changelog for that program, Avatar EE has a new type of BD+ copy protection, and AnyDVD HD will bypass it.

Yeah, you need a very up to date Powerdvd to play it

Personally, I bought Anydvdhd and use it alongside Corel WinDVD

Thanks for the help guys, I downloaded AnyDVD HD and its playing! Waited so long to see this :)

m4cc45, sorry mate I'm not very techie, what do you mean?

Indeed, along with the fact that the last couple of H20L firmware updates were more targeted towards writing strategies.

Glad you got it sorted in the end. :)
