I've just installed an XFX GTX8800 graphics card into my new PC & noticed there are 2 x 4 pin connectors on it & i'm presuming for power.

Am I correct in saying that if you only have one of the graphics cards installed then you just connect the 1 socket to the psu?

I am presuming you would use both connectors when using 2 cards in SLi?

Is this correct & obviously as well as the card being connected to the motherboard & the power connected is there anything else that's needed to be done or connected to the card for maximum performance?

"Another cause for poor performance can be due to a user forgetting to connect both power cables to the graphics card. While the Geforce 8800GTX can boot with only a single power supply, to run at optimal speed, you need to connect two PCI-E 6-pin power cables to the two connectors on the graphics card."

Just found this & answered my own question.
