Does anyone know if there is any way at all that you can create charts in Powerpoint, or import them from some third party program, and be able to animate each element of the chart (for example click the mouse each time to "reveal" each bar on a bar graph) whilst retaining the editing ability of the chart?

I know you can do it in PPT 2003 by "ungrouping" the chart and thus converting it to an MS Autoshapes format, and it works nicely, allowing you to animate each element. But if you want to edit the figures you have to start all over again with the custom animations, etc.

I also know that in PPT 2007 you can do it, as they have added the feature. But as soon as you take the presentation to a computer somewhere that doesn't have Office 2007, it doesn't work.

Also, if you package it as an EXE and then take it to a computer that doesn't allow the running of EXEs, it won't work. If you find a third party program that makes flash files, and you take it to a PC that doesn't hvae Flash, it won't work. So it's beginning to sound impossible.

Unless someone here knows of a way to do it?

Thanks!
