These little beauties have appeared in court in relation to the scummy lootings.
Looks like 2 of the three arrived in court in tracksuit bottoms. Respect shown eh?
Now word seems to be that at least one of these has had his family served with an eviction notice.
Bearing in mind, this wasn't the first night of the problems:-

a) Is his family being treated over zealously? Should they be let off?
or
b) Is his family (mother) responsible for his actions as she must have known what he was up to? Ergo the eviction is correct.
or
c) As he is 18, should he have his own benefits affected rather than his Mother's housing in spite of his Mother surely being aware?

Tricky one.

I personally think that this woman is responsible for bringing up a piece of faeces and a father figure may have helped. I think she is everything that is wrong with our society.
But I also grudgingly have to say I think option c) is correct.

What do others think?

Don't we have Community Service in this country? 18 Months of Community Service for the council should be punishment enough, +6months for turning up in tracksuits.

heh, its one thing hasn't been considered, improve social mobility of the scum by removing their ability to breed, so in a generation, chav scum are eliminated....

hmmm, Enoch? you listening? Never thought of that one, did you?

If this is true, which is a big if, it is no doubt for much more than the lad doing one daft thing in an otherwise law abiding and peaceful house hold.

I do not believe for one moment the militant liberalism entrenched in councils up and down the land has been replaced with an extreme right wing zealousness for punishment overnight.

And sterilise the entire family while you are at it, then future generations wont have to put up with this crap

This reminds me of something a mate once said. :p

Some boy in our year at school was telling us about how his mum sells him weed for him to then sell on. My mate just said, "Forced sterilisation comes to mind". Was amazing.

Regarding their clothing - I'd rather that they wear their 'best' tracksuit because they don't own a suit than turn up naked or turn to crime in order to get their hands on a suit and tie. It's entirely possible that these people don't have a suit.

On another, albeit similar, note when I did jury duty, I was only one of two people (out of 30 or so) who turned up on the first day in a suit and tie. The second day the same thing, the third day the other bloke dropped the full suit and tie but was still in nice shoes and dressed smart. I thought it was quite odd but seemed very much the norm that you don't wear a suit (or at the very least dress smart) to court. Every time I've been to court (witness/jury/visitor) I've gone in a suit, I'd never consider going in jeans and trainers!

Don't bite the hand that feeds you tbh...

The people taking part in the riots/looting effectively attacked society en masse I don't see why the rest of society needs to carry on supporting them. Poverty isn't an excuse - the majority of poor kids in London didn't go out looting during the riots, only opportunistic scumbags did. I'd presume a lot of people took part partially because they thought they could get away with it, saw the police being overwhelmed on the previous night(s) and realised there was an opportunity.
A strong crackdown is a pretty good deterrent against future participation - if the parents of these kids know that they personally can be affected then presumably they might be inclined to do something about their kid being out at night during the riots. I don't care if this guy is 18 he was still dependent on his parents - lots of others weren't 18 and were seemingly allowed out at 2am when their were riots going on... Losing your council house or potentially having your door kicked down in a morning raid by the police because little Tyrone was stupid enough to be filmed on CCTV carrying an LCD TV might act as a stronger incentive for these people to try to reign in their unruly kids a bit.
The local councils aren't doing anything they've not done before here - it is already a clause in the tenancy agreements its just not always enforced.

The fact that people are getting 6months etc.. for stealing a bottle of water is fine by me - its not so much the theft of the bottle of water but rather the context in which it was stolen that is important - they were participating in a riot that no doubt caused a lot of misery and fear for the shop keeper they robbed - in that context the effect of their actions were much more severe than someone who perhpas casually shop lifted a bottle of water on an ordinary day.

The person who committed the crime should be the one punished for it. Evicting his mother seems excessive at best and draconian at worst, especially as the chap is an adult and responsible for his own actions.

Tbh clothes arnt the problem its their actions. Clothes are just that clothes afterall. If they dont have trousers and a shirt then cant very well go in with much else on if they just have casual ware.

The people should be given community service to tidy up the riots and also a fine which they have to sell their consoles or pc hehe to pay for it. :D

Also im not sure where the evict stuff is in the notice, all i see is they went to court and were to be remained in custody for the time being. Cant see anywhere of the info that they are evicted or anything.

I'm sure you can buy a 3 piece suit/top hat and tails from Asda for the price of a portion of fish and chips.

Depends if they turned up in the clothes they were nicked with.

At the end of the day their just clothes is all im saying. I hope the judge sentences them based on what they have done and not based on visuals. Doesn't matter if their smart or casually dressed.

Still, hope they get something good handed to them, riots and all that stuff needs sorting out.
